New chicken lady

Virginia, make sure before your next hatch to check the temperature of your incubator at the level of the eggs. Don't assume the temp displayed is correct. My incubator was reading a degree and a half too high. After adjusting the temperature set point up, my hatches got a lot better. And before I forget, welcome home to BYC
Thank you!
I noticed the same and because of this awesome group I had that info before I started, and I am using a high sensitive thermometer for human fertility check I had that is more accurate then the regular ones and I measure it like in the picture.

The one thing I am still struggling with using this incubator, and anyone with the same with good advise would be so appreciated, is the humidity. To reach the right humidity, 70%, from day 18 forward, there is no way to stay at the temperature the manual says which is no higher than 37.5. The reading in the picture was just after I opened to take one chick that hatched and was there for 24 hours so he went to the broader.
I got a better hatching rate from the last batch, 6 out of 11. The other ones died inside after pecking out just a bit, they were pretty dry.
