One of my girls has no feathers on her bum, out of the blue the feathers were gone... Looks kind sore, but there is no open sores or drainage. Can not post a pic and new to chickens..

Are you in the northern hemisphere? Is your hen around two years of age? Do you see some prickly pin feathers in this bald area? Have you noticed more feathers than usual blowing around the coop and run?

If the answer is yes to all the above, your hen is molting.

Then I would suspect feather picking. She may be getting picked by other birds. Common causes are overcrowding, stress, boredom, not enough protein in the diet.
Check her over for lice/mites just to make sure you aren't missing something, and then spend some time observing behaviors to see what is going on and see if there are any issues there that you can rectify. She may be low in the pecking order and getting picked on. You can try using blue-kote or an anti peck solution on her in the short term, but fixing the underlying cause would be best. The feathers may not grow back until she molts.

Great thank you... she might be low on the pecking order. Did not think of that
