I was hoping it wasn't so...I live in a suburban area and no crowing allowed. And thank you! I told my husband if Chicken Little was a "he", then he would be a house chicken with a diaper! 🤣🤣 So, I had to try one on. Thought for sure it was a "she" until recently. They are all about 6-7 weeks old and have been in their coop for about a week now. Chicken Little's behavior had me second guessing. It made it harder not knowing what breed I was looking at, which I think i have narrowed down. Thank you for your help! 😊

No problem! I've heard some people talking about 'no-crow collars'. I've never used them, but that might be something to look into :)

I just saw a video with one today as I suspected that my little one was not a girl. I will definately look into it now that I have a second opinion. Thank you! 😊

@Ducky3pl hey so if they are only 6 weeks or so, they are Male. How their combs look now is what a female will look like when they are closer to 6 months+ old.. here is my female 5.5 week d'uccle (gold and brown color)... you can see how theres nothing really there.. like a stunted comb.
I also have a female mille fleur d'uccle (the one that looks like its being crushed 😂) with a little pink, but see how its smooth, no comb.

So I do have a roo then.. this one is about 8 weeks old now. The last one was taken at about 4 weeks old. I was hoping that I had a pullet. How loud do the roos get? I appreciate your help. I am still a newbie trying to be the best chicken Mom, but we live in the suburbs and keeping our fluffy babies under the radar.

I totally understand, im in the same predicament!! I would try to rehome them, people do like this breed, so it might be easier than with other breeds. I would try again getting a female of this breed.. you already know how absolutely sweet they are. I havent heard them crow in person, but i found some youtube videos where people were demonstrating how "quiet" they were... uh .. yea not going to work for a non farm neighborhood. I was trying to figure out how id keep my boy, but it isnt going to be worth the trouble if it ends up disturbing anyone at all. The girls btw are so quiet.. not even loud clucking, nothing! Mine just trill little sweet sounds all day.
