new chicken mom/what chick is this?

Hello! I decided to impulse buy at a market and purchased 2 baby chicks.
needless to say we had to scramble to get a brooder started/general information on how to raise chickens, but can someone help me identify these babies and possibly sexed? I suspect that the yellow (lucy) one is a boy, lucy seems to pick on the other chicks alot ad "her" comb is pretty bold already. The black one is Shadow.

Its to early to know for sure what breed they are and what sex they are. Shadow is likely a Barred Rock, Lucy could be several breeds. Post pics at about 6-8 weeks of age. Breed should be able to be narrowed down by then. And possibly sex. Good luck with your chicks.

That chick is barred and clean legged. Can't be a Black Cochin.

Those chicks look just like my Barred Rock and Buff Orpington when they were little. Here's a few pics from 2 days to 2 weeks:

My buff was a week older and had her wing tips already. Yours should be coming in soon... so if they're gold or tan colored, maybe a buff. But if they come in white, sorry not sure.
Your black chick may not be exactly a BR, but could be similar barred like Dominique or Cuckoo Maran. Probably can get a better idea when they're older.
