my journey to chicken mom began when a friend purchased 3 chicks at a feed store as a surprise gift for her daughters at Easter. It didn’t Take long for her to realize what that really entailed. Soon they were in my living room under a heat lamp and I haven’t looked back! They are now 13 weeks old and it is now apparent that one is a cockerel. I had my suspicions from the beginning based on my newly acquired knowledge from reading lots on this site. I am in New Orleans and city ordinances don’t allow roosters.. he began crowing last week and is quite regular with his 6 o’clock greeting. Nobody has complained yet, but I am already trying to find a farm for him. I have received zero replies from all my outreach and for the time being I hope that my neighbors haven’t noticed. Thank you loud a/c units!

Sorry to hear you have to rehome your boy. Have you searched for local FB Poultry groups where you can post him?
