You may have to have someone else answer insulation question because I do not have that in my coop just windows with netting for ventilation which I close if weather is too bad and leave the door in center open so they can get in and out in bad weather. I leave windows open when can. I focus on clean and dry with ventilation. I added extra mulch in coop and in run with dry leaves. Will likely add straw when colder here in KY for extra warmth.

I don't think you'll need insulation. You're in the same neck of the woods as me, just a couple hours east. Biggest challenge will be keeping water from freezing. Mine went through last winter in hoop coops. If it get's crazy cold I can cover the bottom with green house film or move them to the greenhouse. You might want to get a tarp to block blowing snow and wind around two sides of the bottom, just in case it gets crazy cold.

Tarping is good and inexpensive. I have tarp and found it useful. Mine is sun, rain, and snow proof. I used during bad storms in rainy season with gusting winds here and kept my girls dry and clean. I plan to use in winter if necessary. I do not keep it on all the time so mine is easily draped and removed. Mine can tarp whole coop if necessary, if not I just overlap to size needed.
 
You want to avoid cold wind blowing directly on them. For me, and it's likely the same for you, the cold wind comes out of the north east, so I cover the bottom on the north and east side. Leaving the south and west sides to provide good ventilation. Last winter even on our coldest days, they were out pecking through the grass. They weren't particularly excited about the white stuff, but once it quit falling out of the sky, they were out scratching through it.
