New chicken not laying

Hi everyone. I am new to raising chickens, I have a 2 month old polish and last weekend I bought a 10 month old Ameracauna at a chicken swap. I was told she was already laying blue eggs. I brought her home and so far she has not layed any eggs. It's been 4 days. What could be the reason for this?

Moving to a new environment almost always causes a hen to stop laying for a period of time. This may be a matter of days, weeks or even in the extreme months. A lot depends upon the breed and temperament of the hen involved - skittish hens may take a longer break.
