New Chicken Ower Worried About Barred Rock Gender

I am a first time chicken owner and am very happy with my two and a half week old chicks. While I bough my chicks 'sexed' and hoped that meant they were all female, I am now having suspicions about my barred rock.

I have attached a picture of the chick in question...please let me know what you think. Male or Female?

((I am also happy to take more photos if it is too hard to determine from these. My suspicions are from her irregular shaped white spot on her head and light grey underbelly.))

PS. What does one do with a rooster they can not keep?

hatcheries only have a 90% seximg accuracy. So it is never 100% you are getting all pullets. im not sure, but has big comb, thick legs, and lighter coloring so i would lean towards cockerel.

If that comb turns pink next week and red the following week, it is indeed a cockerel. Here's a little cockerel with his comb turning pink.




Pullets combs stay yellow until they are much older.

I agree, my barred rock chicks didn't have a comb like that for a long time. Sorry roo.

I'd lean more towards a cockerel.

I'm going to say cockerel. The stance, color, and comb say cockerel to me.
