Hello all! I made the decision a few weeks ago to invest a couple of hens to go along with my backyard garden, in the effort to be a little less dependent on my local grocery store. Currently, I'm in the process of researching DIY coops and brooders, to make the process as economical as possible. Once the brooder and the coop are completed, I'll be purchasing my first ever baby chicks! Quite excited, and looking for all the advice I can get on backyardchickens.com and doing lots of research to make sure its done right.
