I hope you will share pics of your coop. Everyone around this area tells me not to heat the coop. I'm thinking as small as my coop is, insulation and a lightbulb will suffice. I'm more concerned about predators. We have everything around here because we are surrounded by woods. I've seen skunks, foxes, raccoons, bears, porcupines, hawks and coyotes. Our plan is to make a closed run out of 1" hardware mesh, bury it and line it w/ cinder blocks. DH has that all planned out. I'll be devastated if I go out and find that something got my chickens. I'll post pics of our run as it is being made.
Great, cant wait to see. Looks like you've planned very well.
In Australia where I live, I am by a big sea lake. The only preditors I'd have to worry about is pelicans, cats or someones unfenced dog.
As you may have seen the pic of my coop, it is enclosed, apart from the floor.
So Im hoping it will be at least cat proof.
Good luck ^^
