Hello everyone. Chicken newbie here from Cedar City, Utah. I have three 7 1/2 week old Easter Eggers that we raised in our living room. They are really
neat birds with distinct personalities. We put them outside in the coop last Friday, May 8th. which is inside a 7 ft. X 13 ft. run with a metal roof and hardware
cloth built onto my south facing cinder block wall. We live outside of town surrounded by alfalfa fields and lots of predators.
It's amazing that it took them just one day to figure out they needed to go into the roosting area at night to sleep. They can go from the coop to the run
area anytime they want as I made the structure very predator proof. Took me 7 weeks to build this thing.
I did a lot of research before I got the chicks back on March 20th., and I found BYC very informative. I also have neighbors across the street that also have
Easter Eggers, and they gave me some help and advice.
I look forward to see how these birds grow and mature, and of course I look forward to the blue eggs!
