(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Completely new to chickens...got our chicks in May of 2017. Its our first winter together and we are all learning together.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 7 chickens right now.

(3) What breeds do you have?
The breeds I know I have are Buckeye, Golden Buff, Lavender Orpington, Easter Egger, and Australorp. The other two I don't know yet.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Reading articles about winter.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Camping, and more camping.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wonderful helpful husband, a miniature pinscher who loves the chickens, a cat that also loves the chickens, two teenage boys ...I am a police Officer in Ohio and my husband works on the railroad.

To help with the breeds you are not sure of, you could post some pictures on the Breed or Gender Forum for opinions.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
