Striped chick looks like our Welsummers... but easy to figure out if you know what hatchery it is from (most don't carry Welsummers; only a handful carry sexed). Was it in the "rainbow layers" bin? Sexed or straight run?
I'd say EE too except it looks like no hint of muffs. I know not all EE chicks have them, though. Are the legs as green as they look in the pic? That would say, "EE".... my WEls have yellow/orange legs.....
I believe my feed store ordered it from Estes Hatchery....and yes, it came in the "rainbow layers" package....I just want to know if it's a colored egg layer, cause if it is I'll go get a few more....LOL!!! I'm a chicken addict, with the first try....
There's no poofy thing under the bird's beak, and from what I've gathered that would be there if it were an ameraucana.....so I have no idea.....lol!!!!
Looks like the EEs I got last year from MM in my rainbow layer batch--no ear puffs or anything, looked like a little chipmunk and lays very lightly pink tinted eggs.
Well, either way, EE or Welsummer, its likely to give you interesting colored eggs. EEs lay blue, green, olive, pink, or tan. Welsummers lay dark brown.
