New chicks and member

Hello everyone.
We're starting a flock the wrong way prolly but we're getting 17 Cuckoo Marans tomorrow they're 13 days old.

I know nothing of the breed, just a Craigslist ad and a good price. We have 14 acres in the country so no city regs here.

Marans are a french egg laying breed that lays dark almost chocolate brown eggs.

Welcome catfish. Just give em a heat lamp, food, water and a safe dry place to sleep.

I do not know a lot about the breed except they are layers of a really dark brown egg...like a candy bar. I think that is cool. I think they are a european breed.

I know nothing of them either really, we have ONE cuckoo maran chick, and she is the bread stealer of the group so far.

from what I have read, and been told, they lay beautiful eggs, and are good birds.
