That is so me.They are so tiny and fluffy. I am in love. I haven't got much accomplished today because I keep going to stare at them!
We've always called a few days before and let the post office know. We give them our number and each time we've had chicks arrive, I get a call at 5:00Am letting me know they have our chicks. Never enjoy the wake up time, but always fun to head to post office and be back before our kids wake up to see them. Good luck, you'll have a blast!
I see you took the paper towels out.
As long as you see them eating the food and not the chips you’ll be good. Sounds like your keeping a close eye on them anyways.
What happens if you get a rooster?
I usually put Nutridrench in their water for the first few weeks - just enough so that the water resembles very weak tea. I'm not sure how long to wait for the other things. With one group, I waited 2 weeks. The next I put with a broody, so she was outside from day one. The next group, I waited even longer. All were fine. They really don't need anything other than their crumble, but ppl do give bits of lawn to acclimate them to the soil before they go outside. I'm sure someone here will have better advice on that.Made it through night one and everyone's up and eating. They seem to be happy in their brooder.
Do you ever add probiotics to their water? Any additives to their water? When can I give them some greens and should I give them a clump with the roots and dirt or just the greens.
