New chicks here

We got a call from the feed store today. Chicks were in. My lovely wife ran out and picked up 3 Rhode Island Reds, and 3 P. Rocks.

12 hours later and everyone seems happy.

Question.... I just put down paper towels for now, how long should I wait till I put down pine shavings? I changed out paper towels once, want to keep it clean as possible. They told my wife they were probably 3 days old at the most as they all arrived today at the feed store. She said there were a couple hundred total of all varieties that they got in.

I wait on the pine shavings for at least a day or two, until they are eating good.
