I have had chicks in a wire crate in a spare bedroom. Yes, its true. I clothes pinned large towels to the crate for two weeks over a piece of plastic shower wall lining to keep down the dust. At 3 weeks they went out to the coop brooder. It was under 20 and they got used to warming up under the one bulb. Oh boy I learned about timing my breeding then.
