Seeing your feeder reminded me of an early incident -- I have a little round feeder like that and had not put a jar or lid over the top hole. One of my smaller chicks was digging for food...and ended up in the whole bowl..luckily I found it before it got too stressed. I only wished I had my camera but decided the priority was getting the chick out of the bowl.
The EE chicks are the smallest and they jump up on the feeder, get both feet inside the hole and then lean down and stick their head in there to eat too. All that sticks out is their butt!
I had a jar on their but they keep knocking it off. I need to just put a lid, I guess....
See? It used to have a jar....until the 'hercules hercules chickadees' got a little rowdy.
Oh my goodness......DUCKLINGS!!!!!!! I would NOT have been able to resist the ducks. Your chickies are soooooo cute, thanks for posting all the pics! Mine are only 2.5 weeks old, and already out of that tiny baby stage! Waaahhh....guess I'll have to go get more.
What cute little chicks!!! Makes me homesick for my little fuzzy butts(I am out of town for a couple days). My husband keeps talking about ducklings and saying i am biased because i didn't buy any, just chicks. Why he pressures me so, I do not know. hee hee heeh... but we still aren't getting any right now, 'cause we just aren't set up for having them. I think it would be cool though, to have ducks.
