I think it's just the spring air. How many are you getting and where from?

Mine are leaving the hatchery wednesday so I am gettting the chick glow.

We are getting 8 Araucanas and 8 speckled sussex from Mt. healthy. I ordered from them because they are close and I didn't have to order 25. I bought my first flock from Murray Mc. and I really loved them. Hope these are as healthy and happy as the others!

I've never tried to hatch my own. I'm hoping we will have a broody soon as I'm going to let her raise a clutch. I think I'm getting to be a little bit of an compulsive, addicted, can't help myself, kinda chicken person!!

Yup, they're Easter Eggers. No hatcheries sell Araucanas.

Get some pics when they arrive though.

Easter Eggers come in so many colors, although hatcheries offer a common BBR/Duckwing type variety all the time, I do love seeing the weird ones. . .

As for real Araucanas. . . Man was I excited when I got mine. . . Now I can't wait until they mature all the way to about 6 months, and get us some amazing, true blue eggs.

They do grow up fast don't they.

One minute they are little fluff balls, then before you know it, they have flown to the coop!! They rarely write. The only time they pay any attention to you is if you go out with some snacks!

Then if you don't have any, they just ruffle their feathers and go on their merry way!!

But I love them anyway!!
