Hi there, we went to a nearby farm and bought a Black Minorca ( few weeks old), a Light Sussex, and a Wyandotte Gold Lace( both a few days old), so in total with the 5 shavers, we have 8 birds, I feel like a proper poultry keeper now we have other varieties. If any one has any tips on the chicks as we've never had chicks before, they'd be welcome.

I love having a variety of chickens. They each have their own personalities. Make sure you keep the chicks seperate for 4 weeks to guard against passing any illness to the other birds. If they are only a few weeks old, they still need plenty of heat, so I would keep them insde until they are fully feathered.

I feed my baby chicks sugar water for the first few weeks.I also mix there feed up like oat meal with sugar what .They seem to love it .I haven't lost one yet.But Im still new at this myself

you will get all the info you need just post it and someone will answer your questions
