Crow-ded house
Songster
One rooster and two hens all bantams. Precious laid eggs while Goldie never has. Goldie has been brooding on the eggs while Precious was out and about but at night both slept on top of the eggs. Thursday all seven eggs hatched and mom and aunt are totally hugged up together, laying on the chicks, sharing the babies. Is this normal? They both hatched them out but in reality only one is the true mom. So far no jealousy issues or any problems. They take care of the chicks equally and seem not to care which chicks go under them. And both girls are very protective of the babies.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
