How do y’all store your eggs? Shelf, skelter, basket, something else?

If stored at room temp, how long before they’re bad? Yes, I know I can float test, just looking for a ballpark timeframe. I keep my home at 62* in the Fall/Winter and 68* in the Spring/Summer.

If stored in fridge, same question. How long and what type of storage do you use?

Pretend bonus points if you have pictures!

I store all my eggs out of the fridge. Don't wash them and they'll last a month or more. I've never had to worry about it because we eat or give them away too fast
I definitely won’t wash them. Have to keep that bloom intact! I know that once they’re all laying, we will have way more than my family can eat. I do plan to gift some neighbors and friends but will still have an abundance.

I refrigerate. I have egg storage drawers as well as ceramic caddies so I can hold 7 dozen on 1 refrigerator shelf - if I add a standard egg carton (enough room to squeeze one sideways) that bumps it to 8 dozen.

I expect my eggs to stay good for up to 3-4 months refrigerated & unwashed - in fall, I slow down usage and start saving up eggs so I'll have hopefully enough to get through winter without having to buy any.

I love that you keep your house so cool, my house is at 62 as well! My husband calls it “penguin temperature” 😆

As for your question, we currently just use a wire egg basket. Only one of my chickens has laid eggs, so it’s manageable. But I know when all 17 start laying I’ll have eggs coming out my ears and the basket will not suffice’ 😁

freezing!

67* all year round for me.

the only exception being in the winter, the heat is off from 10pm-5am because it’s good to sleep in a cold room.
🤣 My thermostat is set to 63 in the day, 57 at night. I too prefer a cool night's sleep.

Not to get too off topic :) but OP, your temperatures are good for storing on the counter if you know you'll eat up eggs within a week or two.
