New Christmas ideas for my parents... HELP!

You know, I bet your mom would love some bath products. They are decently priced. I just picked up some from Kmart for under $8.00. That's just because it's a special kind that is all natural and was not on sale. But I use softsoap, Honeysuckle and oranges, I think it's called. It is soooo awesome!

For your dad you could get him a really nice pair of house slippers.

Hi Robinsbrood... Im 54 years old and have been a diabetic for 31 years. I still love an occasional sweet now and then but for the most part have gotten used to not eating too many.
I think what would be great is if you did make them bread, pies, or something, to cut and wrap the pie slices so that they are already portioned out. That way, they can take a frozen piece out when they want to instead of feeling that they have to eat the whole thing. Maybe with bread you can bake them in those mini loaf pans or just cut them into portioned slices?
Just a thought. Barb

Just now saw this post. Did you think of "soup in a jar" mixes? I'm giving some "Holiday Green Pea Soup" and "Instant Potato Soup"; putting in a basket with jelly, homemade bread, and hot tea or instant coffee mix. (The jar of pea soup has to be cooked all at once, but the potato soup is measured out and used for individual bowls. A pint jar makes 4 servings) Just google "soup in a jar".

Thought about the slippers for my dad, but my mom is pretty on top of keeping him in nice ones. My mom doesn't like scented anything... no lotions, perfumes, etc. She has bad allergies when it comes to scents so she just avoids using all of them (unfortunately, I've taken after her in that area.

Thanks! My mom has stressed over and over this year that she didn't want us buying them anything. When I told her that I was planning on making my aunts and uncles homemade cookies as gifts, she was very pleased with the idea, and said it would mean a lot to them since I was putting my own work into it. I think my parents are going to enjoy getting diabetic friendly homemade goodies... and technically I won't be spending anything on them, since I have to buy groceries anyway.

My boss is like that too, and we share an office. However - she LOVES the Gold Bond healing aloe lotion - not much of scent, doesn't make her break out, doesn't give her breathing issues. You have some really good ideas here and I understand you postion. Nothing is QUITE right. I hate that feeling!!

No, that wouldn't really work since both of my parents are retired (lots of time on their hands) and both of them already make killer homemade soups! But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I used to be able to wear some pretty strong perfumes. Now it KILLS me to even be around someone wearing it. These days my everyday scent is Lever 2000.
