I saw a very interesting documentary that compares the 1918 flu with the bird flu. The scientist looks into certain traits within the virus that cause it to become airborne or not.
Quite interesting, its here called "1918 flu" if anyone's interested.

I agree, the fear tactics used these days are stressful and unnecessary. We all know there are scary diseases and viruses out there, we don't need to be beaten over the head with them everyday!

Not saying we should live in ignorance, but there's awareness, and then there's plain old fear tactics that do nothing more than frighten people and cause panic.

Yeah I think you are right. I do not like their tactics at all.
