New coop build

Are those doors open until after dark....or do they fly up to the roost from underneath?

There are 2 ramps under the coop area, the doors open for cleaning or getting to the chickens

Today I finished the coop!!!!
Just some trim and paint touchup left...

Test fitting the nest box lids

Got the first coat of paint on the lids.

Ran out of sun so working by flood light.

Also got the rosting rods in.

The girls and tge 5 rosters I seem to have going for a late stroll, they are out growing this staging box Quick........

Started my fodder system first 2 trays have seeds in them tomorrow the next 2...

I also picked up a chicken food plot seed from here

I got it at $3 a lb buying 25-50 lb bags. I got 50lbs
I am splitting the bag with a friend...

All thats left is make the 3gal water bucket and get 2 of the big feeders, plant my chicken plot and hopefully not have any fires again......

They look super happy in your last pics. As for sprouts barley is awesome but mustard is also really good and dosnt mold the way barley does. Ill post pics of mine tonmorrow

Got the light in and the mulch down for the walkway.. planting chicken greens in the sand areas.

Ill have a daytime picture soon.

The chickens are happy eatting fodder mealworms and any other bug i find and bring them

Lol I feel ya on the bugs. Whenever I find a big worm or a beetle I wiggle it in there face lolol. One of my freindlier chickens will actualy sit with me as I dig into the dirt with a stick and then she'll peck around where I dug lol. Team work indeed
