New coop- chickens won't go in on own

No unfortunately I wasn't able to do it gradually due to my work schedule. I had to pull the old one out to get the new one up and although they watched from the yard they came in that night to the new coop. Not ideal but I had no choice. I hope they learn to like it soon. I over worry about my flock!
Oh, that's fine.
Either wrangle them in every night for how ever long it takes.......or wrangle them once and leave them in there for 3-4 days and nights.

I totally understand.

I too am a worrier about my small, much loved flock and do everything I can to ensure they are comfortable and safe. They, however, take a bit longer for fall in love with my ideas than I do

As I type hubby is installing a misting system on the new run for our upcoming hot summer. While it will definitely help with keeping them cooler we are not holding our breaths for a thank you

Having said that, they probably think they do not need to say thank you as they are assisting with/supervising the installation

Oh I hate that! I have one chicken that sometimes gets caught out when the auto door closes. She gets up on a high shelf in the run to sleep and I have to go out there in the dark and put her in the coop. Once I just let her suffer thru the night out there alone but at dawn she was squawking up a fuss. She also does not appreciate me grabbing her to put her away and always struggles the brat.

Ha! Ha! I've often asked one of the many standing around watching me work if they would mind handing me a tool. Ungrateful twerps never seem to want to help.

But have you noticed they do offer to poop right around your feet and the area where you're walking back and forth working? And most of the poops are cecals?

I would be tempted to believe it's a conspiracy.
