New coop or new garage...which would you do if you had to choose one

I haven't read all the replies, but can you simply double the depth--garage in front, coop in back--essentially building a 4 car garage--2 wide by 2 deep? With a wall inbetween to separate the areas?

I have a friend who turned their extra garage into a coop. It is essentially a double depth garage as I described. She built pens along each outside wall of the back areas, then put in pet doors to let them out to a run that surrounds the back half of the building. The pen roof is partially covered with solid roof, completely covered with wire. She is out in the boonies, and has had to contend with bobcats, havelinas, skunks and raccoons.

I love having a garage for my car. Stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. I always thought people were crazy to keep JUNK in the garage and the more valuable car outside.

Plus - I wouldn't think a garage would have enough ventilation in it for a coop.

I turned a 12' x 12' Noble horse shelter with event front into my current chicken coop. Added hardware cloth to the event front bars and door.

I have another with open front that I'm debating enclosing as a second coop or duck house or both.

I'm so biased.
I vote GARAGE. (with an addition off the back for the coop with a shared wall).

I'm pretty sure I'd cut off a little toe for a garage. I live out in the middle of a big bean field and NO garage. It sucks in Missouri in January!
