New Diet

Keep up the good eating everyone. I started back on a South Beach diet which is quite similar to the one you are on it appears. I had great success with in 7 years ago and was maintaining well until a knee blow out had me on the skids for about 6 months. I went off the plan, didn't exercize and have systematically gained back nearly all the weight I had lost before. The past few months I have been feeling like a wet rug drug behind a run away stage coach. Tired, bloated, foggy brained, unable to remember the simplest things. This past week, three days ago, I had a very scary head ache which rocked my world. I have had migranes since my teens but this was like nothing else I had ever experience before. Stabbing pain in the back of my head, lights in the eyes, dizzy thought I might pass out but luckily did not. It caused me to lose mobility in my neck and my upper back was numb and tingly for days after. The day after it happened I dug out my old South Beach instructions. After just three days, my head is clearer and my bloating is gone. As you well know, it does matter what you eat. Weight lose or not, I just want to be healthier, feel better and minimize the chance that I might have another headche like that one.

I hope it's okay for me to vent. I do not have a diet buddy and was hoping I could check in here a couple times a week to help encourage myself and maybe you too.

Thanks

No problem.
Great to hear you are getting back on the diet that worked for you. Wishing you the best to feeling better.

I think it does not matter what diet you are on as long as it works for you and getting healthy and feeling better is the best part. If you need any support or encouragement go ahead and come on.

Here are a couple chuckles. I had a training course this weekend. There were numerous people who have not seen me in months. My head director did a double take along with several other people. Several more came up and asked me how I did it and how much I have lost. several more just said they were very surprised and glad I lost the weight.
Afterwards I saw a friend in the store and he looked at me, then looked again and looked again. the surprise on his face I wish I had a camera.

Atkins for me was the best diet.

Im a male 5'8 and used to weigh 180 lbs, now I wiegh 125-128ish lbs from the low carb diet. First 2 weeks sucked cause I used to love eating pasta, but now when I think of bread and pasta my brain tells me "you will get fat if you eat it" and I'll stay away from high carbs forever.

I didnt lose much energy from the low carb diet plus when I pooped it was normal. Only thing is when your on Akins is eat alot of meat and high in protien and hit the gym it will help alot to make you stronger.

I did the Atkins and lost 17 pounds and that was it. Nothing more. I ended up in a fog and couldn't think straight, that is dangerous for a VFF.

I am glad that it DID work for you though!

Day 6 on Phase 1 and I had a bit of a problem. Had a very queezy stomach today, like stomach flu time and eating all the raw veggies at lunch did me in. So I get home and my stomach is jumping like crazy and the only thing I know to eat to help...is saltine crackers. White flour carbo load crackers and diet sprite. So I ate them and slept for 2 hours. Woke up feeling much better. So back on the diet tomorrow and hopefully back on track. I feel really bad for blowing it today. Oh Well!

Don't beat yourself up about it. Cheating happens. I fell off this week with the stress and worry over 2 friends fighting cancer and the fact our current house is literally falling down around our ears. I gained a pound. Stress and worry is my trigger for overeating.

just jump back on.
Have you tried cooking you veggies or are you at a place where you cannot?

I am a lunch lady so little to say I am surrounded by not so great food, except for the salad bar. Started bringing some yogurt with me. Regulations about bringing in our own food, so Salad it is.
