I'm starting my diet today!

I had 3 eggs with some salsa this morning, I'm having chicken breast and green onions wrapped in lettuce for lunch, and tilapia with veggies for dinner!

DH and I went shopping last night and we ONLY bought raw or frozen veggies, chicken, fish, lean beef, and a couple dairy products. I filled our entire fridge and freezer for only 55$!!! Looks like this is not only healthier, but cheaper too

We still have bread, fruit, bbq sauce, etc in the house, but I won't be touching it. I am still letting Jamison eat what he wants. He is perfectly fit so I'm the one that needs work

I am planning on boiling a TON of eggs and using at least one in every meal. I am also working to completely eliminate granulated salt from my diet.

Yay!

Sounds like a good deal, but be careful with soy most soy/ and soy products these days are monsanto's franken foods line and are so not good for you.
So how much did this diet cost you to be on, if you spent 55 $ on groceries and then how much for there stuff?

Whoa, I have never heard of monsanto's franken foods... I was actually planning on using soy quite a bit! I would love to learn more about that... How can I tell if it is or is not?

As for your other question, I don't intend to buy their foods to be honest. I am going to follow their diet plan without buying any special products except for some vitamin supplements and maybe some meal-replacement shakes. After reading their philosophy, I don't see a reason to buy their products. It seems that I just need to cut carbs and simple/complex sugars while increasing my protein, vegetable, and vitamin intake. Sounds simple enough.

The 55$ that I spent on groceries will probably last us several weeks. I bought around 20 filets of assorted fish (frozen), 10 cans of tuna, 10 cans of chicken, 36 eggs, about 10lbs of chicken, 5lbs of lean ground beef, 5lbs of beef neckbones, a bunch of fresh veggies, and TONS of frozen veggies. I will obviously have to replace the fresh veggies in the next week or so, but in almost every other respect, we are set for a LONG time.

We are also bringing home an excercise bike. So by my calculations, between our new healthy way of eating and increased excercise, I am bound to lose some weight, right?

WOW where do you shop you got a lot for 55 bucks around here that would get you maybe some burger an some chicken and a fresh veggie or 2 thats it......... even our burger is 3.25 A LB, and chicken is out outrageous that's why I grew my own, and started this whole chicken ordeal. eggs and meat ya know........!
anyway, it sounds like the diet I always go on when I want to loose some, its called the mayo clinic diet completely cuts carb, sugars, all meat and veggies you normally can loose 50 lbs in 2 months with it, though there is actually some natural sugar in the grapefruit juice you drink with each meal.......... good to know tho.
About the soy, even our local natural herb store no longer carries anything with soy because all our soy has been genetically spliced by monsanto into franken food you can read about some of it here

you can also type franken food into google and finds thousands of articles on the mess they have made of food supply, and there next endevers to pollute the world.......
TY for the info. Kim

Good for you Marcy. They say the first week is the toughest. I gotta say I think the first 6 weeks are the worst. The cravings and temptations are the worst. You will feel tired, but just take it easy and don't push yourself it is your body getting used to the diet. I was told to eat another protein food and sit down for a little while. I ate some iceberg lettuce and sat down.
Good idea to start after Christmas. the temptations right now are driving me crazy. I made sugar cookies with DD last night and boy did I want to just eat them all. I didn't though. I ate 1 today. So everyone falls off. Just gonna go right back on tonight.

As for the aches and pains they talked about that people suffer from due to being overweight, my back no longer hurts, my knees no longer pop and I am able to walk for longer periods of time then I have in a long time. My blood pressure was 120/78 when I went in this spring for my regular check up. It was 106/48 last week. I really want to see what my blood sugar is now. It was 130 last time.

Good for you that is the best way to it, if ya fall off don't think ya screwed it all up, just get back on the band wagon tomorrow and continue.......... It's awsum to read that you are getting where you want to go, what usually happens on diets is everyone wants it off like yesterday, but we tend to forget it didn't go on over night and it sure isn't gonna come off that way either sometimes slower is much better than super fast and making yourself sick.
The Mayo diet I use is awsum and at time I lost 80 lbs on it, but I was over doing it and almost landed my butt in the hospital. I was working 2 jobs and not really eating what I should when I was eating at all....... so it was my own fault, but just a warning from learned experience. Go slow stay steady and you will do it with a smile and a wink.......
