Just a thought - are any of the chew toys you bought him green? It may be a reaction to something in the toy (or one of the ornaments he ate )

Adding a 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the plain yogurt really helps remediate diarrhea. It bulks the "output" right up!

Update:

I would say that the odds of adopting him have drastically risen. He learned to signal us when he needs to go outside to do his business.

He was standing by the front door, whining. I let him out, and the first thing he did was go to the bathroom.

I will say this, though, he’s a very high energy dog. I know, he’s only 7 months old, but he has a LOT of energy. My dad played fetch with him for 30 minutes, and he still had energy.

As I type, he is playing with a tennis ball, running around the house.

Lots of energy.

Jared, our Sammy had WAAAAY lots of energy when we got him. Like I said, I am pushing 70 and not in great shape. I would put him on a 15-foot long cotton web long line and take him outside and he would just run circles around me for about 30 minutes. Like a jet plane. I just made sure that line didn't wrap around me. Eventually he'd do his "bidness," keep running and finally he'd slow down so I could walk him back to the house. He was 15 mo. old then. He's about 3 1/2 now and is a very good boy! He was worth it!

I'm so pleased for this pooch. He'll probably help you on your hunting trips but keep him away from the bears please because this little guy may well want to impress you

I really hate to tell you all this, but I don’t have a choice.

We decided not to adopt him. Here’s why:

At 5 o’clock this morning, I left to go waterfowl hunting. I left the dog at home with my mother and Buster. My mom has pneumonia, so she couldn’t exactly keep an eye on him.

When I got back at about 12:45, empty-handed, I discovered that he chewed up my $35 hymn book and several of my brothers books. He made a very big mess.

Me and my family are way too busy to raise a puppy right now. We can’t give him the constant supervision that he needs. It’s probably better to take him back to the shelter, and let another family adopt him.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with my family. We can’t do this right now.

You did help him to learn about going out for potty reasons, though. You did well by him.
