New duck egg production

So I'm getting a new duck and she's going to be laying age (all my other girls are about to lay), will I see a pause in production during the transition between farm and adjusting to her new home?

Probably it usually takes them a week or more to adjust to a new home. What breed? Now if she has one already in the shoot you may get at least 1 before she takes a short break for adjustment.

Not entirely sure, I think welsh harlequin or khaki campbell, I'm going to see them today. A week isn't bad, I've waited months for my girls haha

Oh I will! Pretty sure they'll be mixed with something, the farm has over a hundred ducks and from pictures I seen what look to be welsh or khaki, muscovy, and runners

Well if you want high production stay away from Muscovy. They stay broody more than they lay

Why not just purchase birds that have been breed for high egg production? A kc might lay 150 to 300 eggs a year, why not just get some from a reputable source like holderreads?

I have a muscovy so I'm good in that department!

My boyfriend doesn't want birds shipped, he's weird about it and would rather pick something up from some one local
