New duck owner!! Please help identify my breeds

Another stupid question of mine:

I know duckies r waterfowl and love water in any way BUT how old were they when u guys put them outside for good? Did they have all their feathers yet? And what about cover when there is a storm and rain?

Wanted to toss my big nasties outside this weekend with my duck central station (and a fenced in run too) almost done since its been finally staying warm out even during the nights.
They just start getting their real feathers but the bunny cage is getting too small for them PLUS it would be nice to have a normal smelling house again. Lol.

It all depends on how old they are, how well feathered, and what your temps are, and if you have a draft free place to put them when outside. The rain the love because its wet and makes mud and worms come out after so raining is heaven for them. Thunderstorms make me nervous but unless its high winds too I don't put them inside. During the winter if there's a storm then they always go inside I make sure of it. It gets cold and super snowy here so that's why. If its just snowing I keep them out but if its really cold I keep them in with their heat lamp on, no matter what age. I spoil them with that.

The big ones are 4 weeks old now and their wing feathers are in. I just built them a nice duck house and they will obviously have some weather shelter when not locked in for the night.
It is nice and in the 70/80's here in WI and is around 50 at nights. So I think that should be okay?! Just a rain front moving through today (when I was planning on putting them outside) so not sure what to do since I don't want their bedding to get all soaked and all over the plae either...

With temps like that the ones who are 4 weeks would be fine during the day. At night as long as they have a place draft free and some nice bedding they should be fine assuming that they cuddle up if they get to chilly.

Just from their proportions the OPs two colorful ducklings look like some type of runners to me. A better pic of them all standing would be more obvious if I'm wrong because it could just be age differences and camera angles making me think that.
Cheers,
Jessie

Good for you! We got tired after building a turkey house, a hen house, and a very large coop, so we ended up just buying an extra large plastic dog house from Walmart for our ducks. It comes apart in 2 pieces, and can be hosed out!! I also use an old dog plastic dog crate for our drake. But now you just gave me an idea! We really need to make another turkey house, and we have a lot of pallets! Woot!! :)

Few from today. Don't mind my mess laying around. Or the unfinished planned puddle(pond).

A friend of mine used to have a duck that looked just like the blue one and I think she said it was an Ancona duck? And the other one's eye marking are definitely rouen but I dont think rouens are supposed to get that thick white ring yet. Maybe they are both hybrids? Beautiful ducks nonetheless!
