found some new ducklings in my carport while working on my car didn't think anything of it until they came back the next day but only 2.... started making random sounds just for fun and they seemed to react to certain ones after about an hour had the 2 remaining ones climbing all over me .... 1 left to be a freebird and the last seems to like the domestic life and loves sleeping in my wifes hair like a nest I assume I've tried looking for the other hopefully it will return but as it stands would like to hear any info or ideas for raising a duckling and also maybe if possible to find out the type.....thank you in advance

Looks like a wood duck. Is it possible to get them to a rescue? If not, I would set up a brooder with a heat lamp, mirror, some water, food, and a blanket

Also, the rehabber I took some squirrels too was recommended by an animal rescue and vet. Sometimes you have to call and ask around to find someone to take them. If you can't get them to one I would maybe contact a rescue and they may be able to walk you through caring for them. If not, you could try to release them yourself... Limit any interaction and give them plenty of outside time. You can setup a dog gate/pen and sprinkle some live meal worms in the grass to teach them to forage. You should also let them swim. At this age they can be supervised in a bath tub for short amounts of time. Just be sure to get them warm and dry under a heat lamp right after.

so I've checked a few things and they dont necessarily say you cant keep em just need a license I think but still checking.....thanks for the tips

I would find a rehabber who can take this duckling an raise it so it can go back in the wild when ready.
from what I've read I'm not supposed to release em back or something not 100%....but also the other 2 have already dissapeared when left to do nothing soo didnt realy feel like leaving this 1 to the same fate
