Hi all I had a duckling hatch out 2 weeks ago and then had another hatch lastnight how would be best to introduce them as the older one is a lot bigger and worried he will kill the newborn. Thanks

Thanks for your help will keep them separated then

^^^^agreed put them where they can see and talk to eachother, maybe some kind of cage with a chicken wire divider.

I will try get something made up for them as the new duckling is tiny as think it was one of my male call duck that did the deed and I put a mixture of eggs in the incubator but stupidly I used one egg that my duck had been sitting on so I got one a lot sooner

I had two batches of ducklings a week apart that I put together. The first were pekins and the later ones were welsh harlequins, so naturally smaller even as babies. The first several hours they were together I noticed a little bullying going on, with the pekins who were just a week running into the welsh and pushing them around a bit. I just stayed close and made sure no damage was done. By that night they were all sleeping together and I never had an issue after that. I can't remember what the size difference would be at two weeks - I know they grow so fast. Perhaps you could observe closely and see how it goes after your newbies are a few days old.

The new one is tiny compared to the older one and the older one keeps trying to bite nibble the baby got them separated by a glass barrier see if they make friends
