New ducks on the way

I am getting 2 pekin ducks next week. 1 male and 1 female. From what I understand is they need a lot of time and attention. I was wondering if any one has had them as pets, as these will serve no other purpose than to entertain me and my 7 year old daughter. If you have any advice/tips that would be great!

I have two pekins as well as a couple other ducks. They make great pets! Be sure to handle them a lot from the beginning so they get used to you and your daughter! There are many great threads on raising them - yes, they do have a few different requirements than chickens - but not so much so that you need to be nervous about it!
