I’m thinking about getting some grown ducks to add too my flock since I lost 4, they’re male, should I quarantine them first before adding to my flock or should it be ok? TIA

They need to be rehomed and as of right now all my ducks have matured and I haven’t had a chance to figure out what’s male and what’s female from my viewings I have more female than male but I’m doing that tonight.Depends on where they came from. You might want to quarantine for a few days so you get an idea on their health, plus are you going to have them with females if so how many females do you have? that's alot of testosterone .
Thank you, I’m kinda in a rough spot. I picked them up last night and the khaki male is the same age as my pekins so he should be ok but I’m worried about the other male, a mallard, he’s a year old and he’s been quite aggressive with the khaki male thinking it’s a female so I had to separate him, I’m concerned cause my ducks I have vary in age cause I’m new to this so my pekins are about 3 months old and my black Swedish and other khakis are in between 2-3 months I’m worried the mallard will be way to aggressive for them. He’s ready to go mating wise but my flock isn’t quite old enough yet to have that figured out and I don’t want him causing fights with my few other males or hurting my female especially the females that are still on the smaller side right nowKeep us updated. Always nice when someone caring like you to take in unwanted drakes but you have to be careful you don't get your ratio out of balance and your females suffer for it. Always something to think about is building a separate pen/coop just for the drakes.
