New EE cross from Hoovers Hatchery?

Anybody get EE chicks this year from Hoovers that look more like Legbar than they usually do? I ordered 5 EE female chicks in May so they are 5 weeks old this week and they are getting single combs and have orange legs. I was kind of hoping for the usual Americana cross so any info on these crosses would be helpful. Thank you!

that's what i dont like about Hoover's. they cross alot of birds and try to come up with new breeds or pass them off as other breeds

Easter eggers aren't a breed so they can be anything, cream legbar based tend to be healthier, imo.

EEs aren't a breed, so you can't expect a certain type. Legbar crosses are still EEs, as are Americana, it's a fancy name for EE. What you're talking about is an Ameraucana cross

I realize EE isn’t it’s own breed and that it’s a mix, I’m just used to seeing the Americana cross I guess with the pea combs and muffs or beards. I was expecting these to be the same, but I also forgot Legbars have colored eggs too.

Americana is a fancy name TSC and similar companies give to their EEs to make them sell more. So saying you have an Americana is the same as saying you have an EE. On the other hand, the true breed is the Ameraucana, which is what is used in the crosses that create the EE

Yes! One of mine looks so much like this, like a crested gold legbar she’s so sweet too also bought her at TSC as an EE

These are CCL based EEs. My assumption is the blue egg gene was lacking in their current line so they threw in some CCL. I have one that looks very similar and also came from tsc.
