I was just wondering how you were doing. It hasn't been what was expected here. Maybe 4 inches of snow and blowing hard. Snow has stopped for the moment.
OH MY GOSH!!!! Got up and looked out the door, we must have gotten 2 feet of snow or possibly more. My first though was, hows the dog gonna poop?
It is almost up to the golden retrievers back. Forget about taking the min pin Roxy out, she would be burried. I have to go find my boots and go out and check on the birds. Oh boy, this is not gonna be fun. Plus, were in a state of emergency.
^^ I just got up too, and we have a TON of snow. It's still snowing with the possibilty of us getting 4 more inches. Good think I covered the run yesterday....which reminds me that I need to go clear it........
Anyways, when I went outside to get the eggs, the girls were looking at me like they wanted to go outside. Um...not happening.
Just got in from morning chicken chores. It is 35* out, snowing but not really hard. The wind is gusty but not hairball. Still have power, yay. I would say there is about 6". It is drifting so it is really hard to tell. We still have about 8 hours of this stuff.
We lucked out--storm stopped at the Catskills and we're just west of them but what snow is on the ground is moving around this morning--windy and the temperatures have dropped from low 20's to low teen's since dawn. Good day to throw a log on the fire and huddle close to it. Chickens aren't going to want to go out anyway.
Welp, we dodged the bullet here. Just a coating of snow and the sun is out. But man, that wind has been howling all night long. Sounds like a freight train! Glad to be inside with coffee!

Yeah, a friend of mine posted some photos on her Facebook page from Hudson--looked about the same amount. I grew up in the area and remember a lot of big storms but also remember years when we got very little.
