The wind just stopped here. Blowing like crazy 10 minutes ago...now it is eerily quiet. I thought it was going to blow windows in there for a while. Hopefully it gets better for you soon.

The netting on my run survived.... that's a good thing, we have a hawk hanging around the house, don't know if it would attack a chicken, i think it's here for the wild birds, that we feed out front.

I'm hoping the warmer weather at the end of the week melts some of this...Though the sun was out yesterday, it was so crisp out and beautiful.

ugh! because the wind was so bad yesterday, i dreamt of it!! i woke up exhausted!! i had a dream that part of my chicken coop got blown off from the wind.

As i went out to check on everyone (i could not find one chicken)

behind the coop i saw the rest of the peices and i heard clucking

. i rescued all the chickens and put the coop back together! i think i was crying in my dream, my eye lids are puffy.

Yeah. We survived... It was nice to see the sun this AM, but it is brutally cold at 10º + harsh wind...
I even got 4 eggs out of 5 birds yesterday during the storm

DH dug wonderful paths to the coop and rabbit hutches .

Thanks to the wind they no longer exist. You can't even tell where they were!!!!!

its snowing here again today saying another 5-10 or 8-14 inches. plus cold snap is coming in saturday thru wendesday of next week . single digits during the day and saying 10 -30 below on sunday night. burr . according to my local weather channel we havent had cold like this for the last 3 years. hope the flock makes it thru.

Here in NJ we are expecting another storm Tues/Wed which will then make it's way up to you guys in NE. Received an additional 6" last night and temps are now plummeting. Only 58 more days of winter.

We just started to get some ground showing and now this new storm we're expecting.....oy That's my chicken coop in the background (left) Boy, that was a lot of fun to dig out.
