New Englanders! Much ado about New England!

Thank you for your condolences also. I have given friends some of the Cornish X that we raised and have heard all the raves. Its so true, the moist juices that run clear are not anything "man" has done. Offer the food and water, bing, see what they can do!
Its like having homemade vs the processed sugar loaded junk that comes from the store... (every now and then there is nothing better then the processed poisons! LOL)
Ah well, welcome to BYC luvchicks8, its a great place to hang around and you'll learn from others!

We're from Vermont!

Hello Fellow New-Englanders. My name is Joy. Im fairly new at this whole chicken thing. Tried my hand at it a few years ago but we just were not prepared enough at the time. I sorely missed having a little farm and sooo here we are again. lol.. Hubby loves to indulge my dreams.

Im a lucky lady!
Anyway, Im from Maine. Penobscot County.

Maine here too. I am curious and mentioned this on the Chcikenstock2 forum, but I'd like to know if you have heard this, with a day old chick, carefully take them by their feet, hang them upside down and see which side of the body the head leans. Like if its head tips up to its shoulders it is male or if it tips its head to the crop its a pullet.
Now I am absolutely not sure which way is which but this person claims it after sexing birds at a facility. I'm curious! (probably nothing, but who knows)
Stay cool in NE, its August alrighty!
