No snow, but yup it sure is cold!!! I had to break the ice on the waterers 3 times today!!!!

It is wicked cold and windy. Some dandruff here too. Hope erveryone is staying warm.

I've come to the conclusion that chickens CAN withstand the cold. Went outside this morning around 4:30 with fresh waterer in tow (I put small one in at night JUST in case someone gets thirsty) then put bigger one during day. All were roosting on the highest perch fluffed up about the size of basketballs. I put their light on and gave them a nice breakfast of warm oatmeal and a toasted raisin bagel. They are sure happy girls!

Very windy and cold here...looks like the girls will remain in the coop "again"! Day number two!

CT here - not as windy as yesterday. My DHs co workers got a kick out of me making the girls hot oatmeal.

Since he got himself going at 0500. I'm usually out the door at that time but slept in till 0600, It was a treat for me and them

ETA I think I may have misspelled the domain of my e-mail, if it's just copied and pasted - it's .comcast.net. Just noticed it was misspelled in the Firefox fill-in when I was signing up in another forum. What a PITA!
