I assumed you hatched? Mother has been building an incubator, she has taken it on herself and of course I shake my head and smile. I cannot nor do I have the heart to say no, I'll have the rest of my life to do things my own way, right now it can be her way....still convincing myself of that! But I hope to hatch a few birds for layer replacements.
As for roosters, the pres of the poultry club told how he has a separate pen, lets him in with the girls when he needs fertile eggs, and leaves him in him on his own in his section of the world. That is a great idea.
I need to learn breeding and APA Standards. Not because I'm going to show or anything, but so I can understand what other exibitors have, be able to "talk" chicken- lol.
(I'm still in baby shoes) The more I talk with these people, and of then here, the less I know.
Chickn, sounds like your doing well, perking along business wise.
Have any of you heard about paying for insurance for your birds, be it show or home, a liability insurance. This is something that fairs are going to do to people entering their birds, cow, sheep, goat, bunny, or pig.
I have got to look into that, it gets tagged onto your homeowners insurance- that brings you into the hobby farm classification. I hope someone can set me right! Its scarey!
