Thanks to all who replied. You've all been so helpful! Its nice to have a place to get all this info, since I'm still fairly new to the whole process. Last year we got meat birds, so had no problem meeting the minimum order requirerments, but this year we've decided not to do them.
I've had a few very nice people om me about having some that they would sell, and I think I may go that way, so I can get a few different kinds, and not have to order more than I wanted to get. So if anyone else has chicks available or will soon, somewhat near where I am, please, feel free to pm me! I have no problam traveling a little bit to pick up!
Also, I have to ask, what breeds do you guys recommend for good egg laying, and ones that are somewhat tolerant of the cold up here in Maine. We want some that look a little different, and that lay some different colored eggs. Any info is appreciated! Thanks again!
