Hi Lori, welcome to BYC and joining the madness of New Englanders! Its good to have you here, now, may I suggest that you go into "Chickenstocks" and find Rhode Island, or even a few other states close to you. (not that we don't want you) You may be able to find others that are trading or events happening where you can buy a few chicks- not a dozen!

Unfortunately I have no knowledge on your local laws, there are others here on the web site that can let you know how to go about it.
Good luck to you and glad to have you here!

Very slowly, I'll snap a picture tomorrow of how much snow we have left after the rains. We do have about 1-2 feet left, packed hard from the rain, but the fog is helping. Actually Berlin, NH has less snow then I do here in Maine...but I do have to smile, there was fresh snow up in those hills when we came through rt 2 into Bethel, Me. Also, a friend from Wyoming sent a picture of their blizzard and my reply was "Thats to bad. We have rain!"

Not sure how far you are from the CT border but the local Agway has a minimum of 6. They're about half an hour from the border if you take Route 6 from the Foster area into Brooklyn. I think they're still taking orders anyway. Chickenstock CT will be in Oxford in May so that's a ways for you. Let me know and I can post the link though. And welcome!!
