I went into a Walmart up here to buy a needle and thread to fix a button and they didn't have either.

Man, I knew they were making lots of cuts, but that is just crazy, IMO. Our newly remodeled Walmart looks great, but only has about half as many items as before the remodel.

Started a project. This is supposed to be a medallion type quilt with a 24" Carpenter's Wheel block as the center. I may make another one with a slight color variation, but what do you think of this one? The rest of the quilt won't be quite so bright, yellow and gold used in smaller amounts, but thought this would set off the center of the quilt. The color placement took some planning, I tell ya!

I love the design, well done! The colors you chose are very nice. I also like the idea of placing darker tones with less gold, because it will really make the center pop.

Phase 2, first pieced border. Tried to go up the color scale in blues and purples, so it has a graduated effect. The next stage will be to do sixteen 12" blocks to go around this first part. I'm just not sure which block-don't want one too complicated; they'll go edge to edge with no sashing, so should create a secondary design. And do I put this medallion on point or straight on the bed? Guess I should ask its new owner which he would prefer.
