Sorry you lost Charlie.

Thank you I just hope this may be able to help someone else that is buying new stock to make sure they are eating and drinking not just new babies but even older animals too.

why they have to go and try to eat your goats!

No clue... that is why we rehomed the other two... I live in backwoods Tennessee... not everyone has manners. Probably is that way everywhere... the odd thing... they ate the dairy goat (Nigerian Dwarf) and not the meat goats (Boer)...

EDITED: oops.... sorry bunny....

Charlie

Also some good news we will be getting a portable 10x10 run delivered for the goats and as a turn out pen for the rabbits and an integration pen for the chicks. I plan on rotating how and who will be using it until everyone can free range the fenced in back yard. Right now turning the baby goats out there would be such a problem they are still skittish and I wouldn't want to have to chase them down to put them up in the barn at night. And it'll be nice to have a spot to let the rabbits out to play in during the day that is out in the yard. Pen is due to be delivered on the 22nd same day as my poults get in!!

I've since stopped the bottle feedings and am just supplementing their pellet ration with milk replacer sprinkled on top and giving the smaller doe a bottle a day to help her along. Right now I'm just giving free choice hay and free choice pellets with milk replacer on top and free choice water so they can have as much of everything as they want. Only Belle is still getting a bottle of 8 oz a day sometimes she doesn't quite finish it all leaves maybe half an ounce or so.
