(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes! got my first ones in October and they started laying last week (so excited)

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
3 big girls outside, had 4 but a red-tailed hawk got one :(. (We now have the area completely enclosed with hawk proof netting.)
5 inside just a few weeks old

Here is the chicken murderer looking for his next opportunity!:

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Barred Rocks, 1 Golden laced Wyandotte, 2 Ameracaunas, 2 Cuckoo Marans and 1 Silver laced Wyandotte

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Whenever I have a question you guys always pop up on my screen with the answer.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I still work remotely so not much time for other hobbies, but hoping to get some goats and bees in the Spring

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and I just moved to Tennessee after 25 snow ridden years in New England. Our daughters had flown the nest so it was time to move to warmer climes and fulfill a life-long dream of owning a farm. Like I say I still work in Manhattan but only through my computer now.

Glad you're here neighbor!

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)
