I thought feed had to meet certain criteria to be sold as layer, raiser etc?

Niche market.
"Tlcmurphys' all natural, organic FREE RANGE chicken feed, made with fresh, wild caught serpent and tender *preservative free* insects. "
Mine would prefer the Chipmunk, fallen fruit and June bug Medly. That makes it sound superb! My hens would DEMAND it!![]()
If they did misprint the bag, they need to initiate a recall.Crazy, but I'm thinking that maybe the 13% is an error. I took a look at their product line and their chick starter is 21% protein and their normal layer pellets and crumbles are 17% protein. And, the "Super Egg" brand has a little splash on the top of the nutrition label that says "16% Layer Pellet." Given that soybean meal is the second ingredient, I'm thinking that it is really 16% and the 13% in the nutritional profile is a mistake they haven't sorted out yet. At least I hope so.
