the tall one holds 3 qt....so hopefully it will last about 3-4 days

Thats exactly how I did mine in my breeder cages for the quail, its so much easier because I just dump the food in without having to mess with bowls or tray feeders

I wonder... Could a sized down version of this work? http://www.sleepyzfarm.com/PVCMineralFeeder.html that way I could come in from the front of the cages instead of the top.

i may cut the smaller one, and put a 2" to 3" adapter so it holes that much more feed, want it to be 3qt as well.

A feed waster will tap that thing dry. An endless supply of feed only encourages bad behavior. I recommend you use flat bottom feeders and find the feed waster/s and put him/her in the freezer where they belong.

Great idea about increasing the volume of a standard feeder, but a feed waster will suck you dry!
