Hello,
Okay, so I have 2, male Pekin ducks and they have been fighting for some time now and to the point that I thought they were fighting over the kiddie pool, so I put a 2nd one in there. Nope that didn't work. I saw them trying to drown each other (well that's what it looked like to me), so I ordered 3 female baby Pekin ducks last week and they will be arriving next week or so. I know I can't put them in there for awhile, but now I have a question, as I am a newbie to both chickens/and ducks and now I have both. My question is, if I want eggs, how do you know that it's an egg that can be eaten compared to a baby duck in the egg a fertilized one. Yes, I know that sounds like a silly question, but as I stated I am new to all of this. I currently have 8 10-day old chickens (4 Easter Eggers and 4 Buff Orpingtons), they are all females. So I am not wondering about that with them.
Also, we are currently preparing to build a second duck area, exactly like the first one. Which will have a duck house and a 10x10 enclosed area. So, they all won't be together. One pen will have 2 females and a male, and the other will have one male one female duck.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
